Palm Beach Island is by far one of the most luxurious areas to settle down and retire in the United States. With its amazing shopping, beautiful weather, and private residences, it’s difficult to run out of fun activities to do! However, if you’re nearly 65 years of age and being bombarded with information regarding the Medicare program and the secondary insurance attached to Medicare, you may be confused, if not downright frustrated! Luckily, you are not alone. With all of the phone calls and flyers you receive roughly three months before your 65th birthday, it’s very hard to weed through all of the conflicting information to find a secondary insurance to suit your needs best. I will explain the Medicare program simply in the following paragraphs and explain all there is to know regarding Palm Beach Island Medicare Supplement.

Original Medicare is a national healthcare program for citizens 65 and older who have worked at least forty quarters in the U.S. Medicare is designed to cover 80% of its beneficiaries hospital and doctor bills. There are four parts to the Medicare program which are labeled A through D. Part A is Medicare’s form of outpatient, or hospital, coverage and prior to Medicare stepping in and covering 80% of your Part A expenses, you must fulfill a deductible of $1132 every 60 days you enter the hospital. Part B is Medicare’s doctor coverage. Before Medicare will cover 80% of any Part B costs, you must fulfill a deductible of $162 every year. Part C is referred to as Medicare Advantage plans. Part C, or Medicare Advantage plans, are plans with a network of doctors and hospitals, either county or statewide. They are not recommended because of the strict network, and because you never know exactly how much you will be spending out-of-pocket. Part D is Medicare’s prescription drug coverage. There are roughly 27 different plans in each zip code and the easiest way to find the best-priced plan for you is to go to medicare.gov and type in your prescriptions and dosages to find the best plan.

Palm Beach Island Medicare Supplements are designed to cover some, if not all, of the costs original Medicare leaves for you to cover, such as the Parts A and B deductibles and the remaining 20% of all doctor and hospital bills. Palm Beach Island Medicare Supplement is offered by several different companies in your area, however, because all of the coverage is mandated by the state of Florida, the only difference between companies is price.
