Florida Medicare Supplement Plan F

One of the most popular Medicare Supplement plans in the nation is the Florida Medicare Supplement Plan F. This is mainly because it now offers the most comprehensive coverage out of all the Medicare Supplement plans. Not only does it cover Medicare's Part B co insurance, but it also covers both of Medicare's deductibles, additional days of skilled nursing, 100% of any Part B Excess, and Foreign Travel.

Medicare Supplement Plan F is now the most comprehensive Medicare Supplement plan offered. Medicare Supplement Plan J used to hold this title, but is now no longer offered. The reason being is that the two areas that Plan J used to offer are now covered under traditional Medicare.

The specific benefits under Medicare Supplement Plan F are many. The first (and in many cases most important) is the Part B co insurance which is covered in full. This is usually about 20% of approved expenses that the plan now picks up for you.

The next benefit that is covered is the Skilled Nursing Facility Co Insurance. By being enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B, Medicare will cover you for days 1-20 in any Medicare approved skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation center after you've been hospitalized for 3 or more days. Medicare Supplement Plan F will actually cover you for up to day 100. So the plan will pay for days 21-100 in full.

Another amazing benefit that Medicare Supplement Plan F has is the coverage of both Medicare deductibles in full. In 2010, Medicare Part A has an $1,100 deductible before Medicare's benefits will begin to pick up and Part B has a $155 annual deductible that must be satisfied. With the Medicare Supplement plan F, you are coverage begins from the first day of the year.

Lastly, Medicare Supplement Plan F covers you for Foreign Travel Emergency when traveling outside the country. This benefit actually provides up to $50,000 of coverage anywhere in the world.
