Medicare Rates

Posted on 02 23 2011 by Julia Gilels

All over the country a mass wave of confusion is hitting the soon to be consumers of the Medicare system. Insurance companies are spending millions and millions of dollars a year trying to entice and get the attention of the Medicare beneficiary. After all, Medicare is big business for the insurance companies who offer Medicare Supplementary Insurance. Understand, there are 80 million people who have not yet hit Medicare and will soon over the next 16-17 years. 10,000 new members a day is the current figure of people joining the system, so you better believe insurance companies nation wide are mailing Medicare Rates (costs of the Medicare Supplements offered) to anyone turning 65 in the near future.  AARP is the most famous for all the mail they send out. They actually start at age 50 just so they can mail you double as hard when you turn 65. It actually makes people angry they can receive so much of it. Most of the time the individual receiving the literature does not even know what they advertisements are trying to educate them about. Hopefully this excerpt will clear some of that confusion away.

Once an individual works 120 quarters, as a tax paying citizen in the United States of America, when that individual becomes fully disabled or turns 65, Medicare kicks in as their primary insurance. Turning 65, as long as a person is not going to be working full time, or taking an employer health plan, most people will enroll in Parts A and B of Medicare. Part A will cover them in hospitals and Part B will cover them in the doctors office. Part A is considered an entitlement if you have done the specified amount of work in the USA as stated in the beginning of the paragraph. Part B is something that a person will pay for at a monthly rate, the most common rate in 2011 for a person enrolling in Part B is around 115.00 a month.

Part A will leave you with hospital deductibles that have to be met and reset every 60 days. Part B with leave you with 20% no cap co-insurance and an annual deductible that has to be met. Doctors are allowed to charge 15% above what Medicare assigns to a price of a procedure. So, as you can see original Medicare can be a financial nightmare if you do not have the right Medicare Supplement to back up your primary insurance; Medicare.

Currently to date Medicare Supplement Plan F ,or Medigap Plan F, covers all the expenses just mentioned and then some! Because it is a Medicare designed coverage, the insurance companies are responsible for putting a price to the plan. Would you pay $3 for a can of soda or would you rather pay $1 for the exact same can of soda? The choice is obvious. The same is true for Medicare Supplementary protection. Plan F is Plan F no matter who you buy it from, so pay the least amount you can with an A rated provider and save yourself years of unnecessary over spending. Who is the most affordable plan F provider near me? Medicare Supplements Made Easy can show you that in just a few moments. Medicare experts are standing by waiting to answer any question or concern and can help you apply quickly and easily once you have found the company that is right for you.
